The photograph was taken with the 80mm lens over an area of the lunar farside close to the 64-km Crater Gregory (visible in the right background).

From the mission transcript on orbit 18 after jettison of the LM:

110:33:57 Stafford: Joe, I guess I’ve flown well over a hundred different types of aircraft, and that made my third spacecraft; but of all of them, I’ve never heard anything as noisy as Snoopy. It was too much. Between the fans and the pumps and those thrusters firing on that thin skin, it was really a kick. Over.
110:34:14 Engle: (Laughter) I’ll bet it was. You’ve just never been inside a dog when he is barking and kicking and scratching fleas all at the same time.
110:34:25 Stafford: Yes, that’s right. This dog even wagged its tail a little bit on the ascent burn.
110:34:32 Engle: (Laughter) Yes. Rog.
110:34:40 Cernan: And he chased his tail on staging.

The LM is pitching down to position itself correctly for the final docking maneuver by the CM Charlie Brown and crew transfer back to Charlie Brown.
Apollo 10’s rehearsal, which was planned to follow the schedule for Apollo 11 as closely as possible, actually took more than six and a half hours from the beginning of the descent until both spacecraft had docked for the second time.
The 51-km and 44-km farside craters Firsov and Firsov V (center) are in the background near the horizon.

From the mission transcript during the docking with Charlie Brown:

106:19:13 Engle (Mission control): Snoopy, this is Houston. How do you read me?
106:19:15 Stafford (Snoopy): So far it looks good.
106:19:19 Cernan (Snoopy): Hey, Joe. We’re about ready to dock. Stand by.
106:19:21 Engle: Very good.
106:19:22 Stafford (Snoopy): Don’t call us. We’ll call you.
106:19:23 Engle: Roger that.
106:20:14 Stafford (Snoopy): OK, John. You’re in to about 5 feet, babe. Looking beautiful. [...]
106:21:14 Cernan (Snoopy): We got a capture, John. Fire when you’re ready. [...]
106:22:12 Stafford (Snoopy): Hello, Houston. Snoopy and Charlie Brown are hugging each other.
