The photograph was taken from Armstrong’s window after the EVA and shows the simplest marks of man’s first visit, footprints in the fine Moon dust and the shadow of the spacecraft.
As planned, the EVA camera was not brought back into the cabin at the end of the EVA, so all post-EVA photography by the LM crew was done with the IVA camera equipped with a 80mm lens. Consequently, the images do not have reseau crosses.

Armstrong took this beautiful photograph from the B&W magazine 39/Q from his Commander window after the EVA.

Frames from magazine 39/Q were not released by NASA after the mission.

“The post-EVA checklist went very well. [...] The time period that we took while we were waiting for the canister (replacement) before starting the depressurization was comparably long. We had to put an eat period in there, as I remember, and took a lot of pictures”, said Neil Armstrong (1969 Technical Debrief, from the ALSJ mission transcript at 112:22:06 GET).

While on the lunar surface, the astronauts took three photographs of their Home Planet. Buzz Aldrin took two of them during the EVA. Armstrong took the third one here after the EVA (and before the liftoff from the Moon) out the LM rendezvous window over his head.

From the mission transcript after the landing and before the EVA:
103:22:30 Armstrong: From the surface, we could not see any stars out the window; but out my overhead hatch (means the overhead rendezvous window), I’m looking at the Earth. It’s big and bright and beautiful. Buzz is going to give a try at seeing some stars through the optics.
103:22:54 Duke (Mission Control): Roger, Tranquility. We understand. Must be a beautiful sight. Over.

“I’m looking at the Earth. It’s big and bright and beautiful.”
Neil Armstrong
