This wonderful view was taken from the Mobile Service Structure (right) during its removal from the Apollo 14 Saturn V and its mobile launcher on the night before launch day. The White Room through which the Apollo astronauts enter their spacecraft atop the Saturn V rocket is clearly visible on the 320-foot-level of the mobile launcher with a service technician on top of it.

The engineers and technicians monitored the final countdown of the Saturn V space vehicle from the LCC (Launch Control Center) which is located 3.5 miles from the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center.586

The huge, 363-feet tall Apollo 14 (Spacecraft 110/Lunar Module 8/Saturn 509) space vehicle is launched from Pad A, Launch Complex 39, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida at 4:03:02 p.m. (EST), Jan. 31, 1971, on a lunar landing mission. This view is framed by moss-covered dead trees in the dark foreground.

A remote camera located at the 360-foot level of the mobile launcher recorded these impressive views of the giant Saturn V rocket leaving Pad 39A.
