Lot Essay

The Lange 1, one of the first models introduced to commemorate the revival of the A. Lange & Söhne manufacture in the German watchmaking hub of Glashütte, has now become a design icon and a symbol of the brand's resurgence.

The present timepiece is an extremely rare example of a gem-set Lange 1. As confirmed by the Proof of Origin certificate, the bezel is set with 48 baguette-cut diamonds. The combination of a pink gold diamond-set case with a gorgeous black dial makes for a very pleasing aesthetic.

The watch is powered by the first-generation Lange 1 movement, the Cal. 901.0 which was seen mainly on the early models. From 2015 onwards, the second generation timepieces were powered by the Cal. L121.1. Appreciation for rare Lange 1 models has only grown within the watch community and this attractive and rare example should appeal to all connoisseurs.
