Lot Essay

The present timepiece is an extremely fine example of The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Michael Schumacher wristwatch that was launched in 2012. The launch of the watch pays tribute to the motor racing legend Michael Schumacher. The fine details on the watch showcase Michael Schumacher’s achievements in his career. These include the seven stars portrayed on the tachymetre scale which represent Schumacher’s achievement for being the seven-time Formula One World Champion. To further enhance the importance of the watch, Audemars Piguet - a pioneer in material applications - constructed the bezel with Cermet, a composite material created with ceramic and metallic materials. This material is known to be very durable and also has an incredibly high impact resistance.

The present model is a limited edition of 1'000 examples made in titanium, 500 examples made in pink gold, and 100 examples made in platinum. The present watch is numbered 0037 of a limited edition of only 1'000 examples and is offered in "like" new condition.
