In 2016, Audemars Piguet introduced the frosted gold watches in their women’s Royal Oak lines, in 33 mm. and 37 mm. case sizes. The “frosted” decorative technique is the result of a collaboration between Audemars Piguet and Florentine jeweller Carolina Bucci. The signature technique involves hammering gold with a diamond-tipped tool to create minute indentations on the surface.

In 2017, AP introduced the Ref. 15410, a 41-mm-size white gold Royal Oak with the same frosted decorative technique. In order to respect the contours of the case, the individual components to be finishing by hand, this technique also means that each watch is different. The Ref. 15410 is a limited edition of 200 pieces.
