Created by Parisian artist Bruno Lefèvre-Brauer for indie watch brand MB&F’s offshoot M.A.D Gallery, the Elvis is a retro-futuristic robot upcycled from old mechanical parts.
+Brauer takes old mechanical parts salvaged from abandoned workshops and garages and works them into new forms inspired by his love for science-fiction. He sketches the initial designs on paper; the metal objects then are laid together on the floor to test out their shapes and how the pieces fit. He also attached light fixtures that are also salvaged to these sculptures, each robot has its own specifically tailored lighting system.
Elvis is part of a series (Viva la Robolución!) of unique piece robots - M.E.A. 2, Billy, Nestor, Oncle Sam, Ernesto, Bambino 4, Pedro, Bonnie & Clyde, and Champion 750 – all created exclusively for the M.A.D. Gallery, Dubai.
