Lot Essay

Created by Cartier in 1967, the Crash model redefined the aesthetic codes of watch making through its asymmetrical case and dial. Inspired from a damaged Cartier timepiece retrieved from an executive of Cartier, the case will remind its owner of Salvador Dali surrealist paintings and amaze through its rarity and timeless looks. Cartier introduced a limited edition Crash in 1991, producing 400 pieces, the current example is number is 97.
