Lot Essay

Revived in 2015 as an independent brand, Czapek’s Quai des Bergues takes its inspiration from a pocket watch made by Czapek in the mid-19th century. The name of the collection is a reference to the Geneva site where François Czapek founded the company in Geneva in 1845. The watch was a success and was the recipient of the public prize at Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG 2016). The present watch is distinguished by a flinqué enamel dial wherein a translucent enamel layer is applied over a guilloche pattern on the dial. In this case, a blue translucent enamel is applied over the brand’s signature ricochet guilloche pattern.
