DE BETHUNE, DBS TOURBILLON REF. DBSTW, A VERY RARE GOLD MANUAL-WINDING HIGH BEAT WRISTWATCH
The DBS Tourbillon was introduced in 2015 to mark the tenth anniversary of the first ever DBS model (made for the 2005 Only Watch charity auction). It is an extremely rare timepiece, only 10 pieces were made (the present reference is 10/10) and is being offered here with in excellent condition.
The high beat tourbillon is a notable addition this watch. Its design retains some of the features of the original, such as the conical lower lugs, the hinged link between the top strap and the case, and the crown at 12 o’clock. In a sense, the watch is a throwback to the early De Bethune models produced before the appearance of the brand’s trademark floating lugs.
Founded in 2002 by David Zanetta and Denis Flageollet, De Bethune quickly flourished in the watch industry by merging both peerless aesthetic with the latest horological breakthroughs. The deceptively simple elegance of their designs serves well in magnifying the complexity of the materials and processes involved in the creation of their timepieces. As De Bethune crafts an extremely limited amount of timepieces per year, the philosophy of the company has been to create better rather than more, and to draw inspiration from age-old expertise in order to constantly invent the future.
