Lot Essay

Inspired by the marine chronometers of the early 19th century, F.P. Journe introduced the Chronomètre Souverain in 2005. The ultra-thin 18k rose gold movement’s elegant design, complete with two mainspring barrels, and construction makes it the most mainstream of Journe’s creations. Unsurprisingly, it won the Best Men’s Watch category at the 2005 Grand Prix d’ Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awards.
