Lot Essay

Released alongside the then- significantly more expensive Speedmaster, Omega intended the Chronostop to be a lower-priced chronograph for younger people. However, despite the lower price, this watch was very much a premium model.

The manual-winding Calibre 865 used, was of a very high quality and extremely accurate. It was so impressive that it won the 1967 Honor Prize for ‘Chronographs and Sport Watches’. The chronograph was ideal for timing sport and was thus elected to be the official watch for the 1968 Mexico Olympics.

The above lot presents the opportunity to own an innovative and fun watch at a very attractive price. It is a fabulous vintage watch for new watch lovers and long-time collectors alike.
