Lot Essay

Marquetry is an ancient decorative technique that involves cutting and assembling wooden veneers. Created to play homage to the spirit of music and rock n’ roll, over 50 pieces of wood were cut, dyed and assembled to create the Union Jack marquetry dial in the shape of a guitar. The sound hole of the guitar perfectly doubles as the aperture to view the tourbillon. The case is crafted in platinum and features the brand’s characteristic teardrop-shaped lugs.
