Lot Essay

The reference 5712 was launched in 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Patek Philippe’s first luxury sports watch, the Nautilus. Reference 5712 replaced the short-lived Ref. 3712 (in production for less than 12 months) in the Nautilus line-up.

The incomparable design of the Nautilus model makes it one of the most sought-after modern Patek Philippe wristwatches, a style-forming icon in the watch industry. Reference 5712 is a triple complication model featuring a power reserve indicator, date and moon phases.

The watch is powered Cal. 240 PS IRM C LU which carries the Patek Philippe seal and shows a very high standard of finishing. Over the years, it has become a much sough-after watch in the Nautilus line-up with demand always exceeding supply.

The present watch’s desirability is further enhanced by the fact that the dial carries the signature of the retailer Tiffany & Co. The celebrated American jeweller and retailer is the only modern retailer that has the privilege of placing its logo on a Patek Philippe dial now. These double signed dials are highly coveted and sought after by collectors.
