Lot Essay

Formerly property of Prince Mohammed Tewfik A. Toussoun of Egypt, this attractive wristwatch from 1943 embodies the classic Calatrava-style wristwatch of Patek Philippe from this era. Preserved in fine condition for a watch of this age, the dial features the long-departed signature of ‘Patek Philippe Co’.

The distinctive ‘teardrop’ lugs add an extra dimension to this wristwatch, perhaps giving substance to the smaller case. Elevated by its royal provenance, this is an attractive example of a seldom seen reference which could be worn elegantly by a lady or gentleman.
