Lot Essay

The Patek Philippe Ref. 3410 was launched in 1959 and was listed right up until 1983. This reference was made in two series: the first series was made from 1959 to 1960 and used the Cal. 12 AM 400.

The second series, like this example, was made from 1960 and featured the Cal. 27 AM. According to Patek Philippe experts, around 1,400 examples made of this reference with the majority (1,300) in yellow gold but only about 70 have been identified in the market this far.

The present timepiece's caseback has a personalised engraving in Italian "La Banca Nazionale del Lavoro al Dr. Mario Pallone 1938-63" which, one can safely assume was a gift from the Italian bank to Dr. Pallone.
