The elegant Reference 5029 was introduced in 1997 to commemorate the inauguration of Patek Philippe’s new manufacturing plant in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva. Only 10 examples were made in yellow gold, 10 in pink, and 10 in platinum. The officer style case (with its hinged back and screw lugs) is the handiwork of Jean-Pierre Hagmann, a celebrated case maker and the man behind some of Patek Philippe’s most famous minute repeaters like the Ref. 3974. Look for his monogram engraved on the inside caseback. The watch blends the tradition with the modern effortlessly – it features a classic Patek complication like the minute repeater but has presented it in a modern self-winding COSC-certified chronometer-grade movement.
