Lot Essay

The ‘monobloc’ Calatrave Ref. 541 was produced by Patek Philippe between 1939 and 1947. The two-part stainless steel cases were made by Geneva casemaker Wenger. The watch was made primarily for the South American market and only about a dozen examples in stainless steel have made it back to the market, according to Patek scholars.
