According to the Archives of Piaget the present watch was manufactured in 1971
The 1960’s marked the beginning of Piaget’s special bond with art and artists - A fascination with gold is something Dali and Piaget had in common. Indeed, Dali actually minted his own gold coins, he called them his Dali d’Or, a nod to the Louis d’Or of France Louis XIV. If a King could do it, then so could Dali. The observe side of these coins feature his own profile alongside that of his wife Gala. The reverse side displayed the eggs that figure prominently in Dali’s work, symbolizing life in the making and future life.
