The RM36-01 was developed in partnership with ace rally driver Sebastian Loeb. Central to the watch’s glory is a rotary G-force sensor. Made of over 50 parts and measuring just 17 mm, this G-sensor can be manually rotated to align with the direction of one’s movements by turning the brown ceramic bezel. This enables drivers to view lateral deceleration as well as longitudinal forces experienced during a typical rally circuit.

The sensor is directly connected to the bezel and sapphire glass and can indicate G-forces of up to 6 G’s. A scale denoted whether the deceleration is safe (green zone) or critical for the driver (red zone).

The movement, a manual-winding tourbillon, has a baseplate and bridges made from a special alloy of 90 percent grade 5 titanium, 6 percent aluminium, and 4 percent vanadium, rendering it extremely rigid and resistant to corrosion.

Launched in 2014, this timepiece was made in a limited edition of just 30 pieces and had a price tag of $625,000 at retail.
