Lot Essay

Introduced in 1989, the GMT Master II Ref. 16710 remained in the Rolex catalogue for a good 18 years before being discontinued in 2007. Though initial models had Tritium dials (until 1997), later models had Luminova (1998/99) and SuperLuminova (2000 onwards, like this present model).

It was available with the iconic "Pepsi" bezel insert, "Coke" insert or the all black version. Notably, it was powered by the self-winding Rolex Cal. 3185 movement with GMT hand and quick set functions.
