Lot Essay

Rolex launched the GMT-Master in 1954 in order to provide pilots a watch that could read 24-hour time for a selected time zone. Following the success of this model, in 1959 Rolex introduced its successor, the reference 1675, which Rolex produced until 1980.

The present example features a beautiful black glossy gilt dial and faded “Pepsi” bezel. The reference 1675 features a crown guard, an aluminum bi-directional bezel graded to 24 hours, a new imprint on dial: "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" along with a fourth GMT hand.

The present lot offers the buyer an opportunity to buy a good example of a legendary and historically important reference from Rolex.
