ROLEX, A STEEL OYSTER COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA WITH "SIGMA DIAL", REF. 6263
Arguably the most coveted of the vintage Rolex Daytona variants, the reference 6263 (along with Ref. 6265) were produced from 1971 to 1988 and represent the last of the manually-wound Daytona chronograph references. The Ref. 6263 was characterised by its black acrylic bezel and screw-down pushers. This particular reference does not even mention the word "Daytona" on the dial and the reverse panda dial makes this particular example even more alluring to the discerning collector.

Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
OVERALL CONDITION: The watch is in good overall condition
DIAL: The dial is nice, clean and original. The white subdial at 3 o' clock has a circular mark probably due to the chronograph minutes hand touching the dial at some point in its existence. The lume plots have disintegrated with time but one can still notice a brief reaction to UV light.
CASE: In good condition for its age, crispt engravings between the lugs. Inside caseback stamped 6239, which is correct and acceptable within the Rolex community. The chronograph pushers, the winding crown, and the bezel are period-correct.
MOVEMENT: Ticking at the time of cataloguing and all functions are working. However, a service is recommended.
BRACELET: The riveted steel bracelet is in good condition and the inside of the buckle is stamped 4 70.
