Succeeding the Reference 16613, the Submariner ref. 116613 features a completely redesigned feature set that has swapped the aluminium bezel insert for a tougher and sportier Cerachrom (ceramic) insert, as well as a brand-new case and bracelet design. However, the 116613 retains the signature two-tone steel and gold finish of the case.

The lugs and crown guard found on the 116613 are slightly widened, and the bezel has received a new mounting, thus giving the watch a slightly larger and more statuesque appearance. Despite its larger presence, the 116613 compromises in no-way on usability and sportiness. In fact, it is improved upon with an upgraded paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring for better resistance to shocks and temperature variations.
