A really rare reference that derives from the mid-size Royal Oak Ref. 14790, this spectacular white gold and diamond-set Royal Oak Ref. 14986 has a paved diamond dial with emerald hours markers. According to the Heritage Department, only five examples were made of this gem-set Royal Oak reference, two in yellow gold and three in white gold.

This watch takes its style cues from another really rare reference, the Ref. 14705 that was made in 1992. Just one example was made in white gold, also 36 mm-wide, and was powered by the Cal. 2124. A decade later, Audemars Piguet produced the Ref. 14986BC in three examples, powered by the updated Cal. 2225.

Extremely rare, this watch should appeal to collectors of impressive diamond-set watches.
