Lot Essay

Launched in 1944, the legendary "Tri-Compax" is certainly among Universal's best-known models. One of the most complex chronograph wristwatches of the period, its functions include days, weeks, jumping months, moon phases, minute counter, chronographic hours, and a tachymeter scale.

The model was available in steel and gold cases, with a variety of dial colors and designs. The designation “Tri” is derived from the three main complications, chronograph, full calendar and moon phases.
