Lot Essay

The Patrimony collection from Vacheron Constantin takes its design cues from the classic dress watches the Swiss maison made in the 1950s. Introduced in 2004, the Traditionelle ref. 47192 is an elegant chronograph wristwatch that takes the classic dress watch design but updates it for the modern era.

The watch was powered by Cal. 1141, which was based on the Lemania 321 (also associated with the Moon-bound Omega Speemaster). Interestingly around this time, Patek Philippe was also using a Lemania-based chronograph movement to power the Ref. 5070.

The two tone white gold and pink gold ref. 47192/008-9828 was introduced in 2013. Handsome and with a gorgeous two-tone grey dial, this a watch that should appeal to those looking for a fantastic manual-winding chronograph wristwatch from the Holy Trinity of watchmaking.
