The Ref. 4240 was Vacheron Constantin's first serially produced calendar wristwatch when it was unveiled in 1942. The present lot has a beautifully-crafted fluted yellow gold case and claw lugs.The day and month are indicated via apertures on the dial and a slim gold hands indicate the time while a red arrow indicates the day of the month.

OVERALL CONDITION: The watch is in good condition.
DIAL: Dial is nice, and original with a discoloured spot at 4 o' clock on the edge of the dial and a minor scratch in the middle of the brand signature.
CASE: The case is in good condition. The gold hallmark is visible under the lug and there surface scratches to the case.
MOVEMENT: Ticking at the time of cataloguing and all functions are working. However, a service is recommended.
BUCKLE: 18k yellow gold buckle stamped 750.
