Lot Essay

According to research, this impressive watch is the only publicly known example of the Edward Piguet chronograph with a solid gold bracelet to appear at auction to date. The bracelet gives the watch great presence and gravitas, the whole piece weighing over 200 grams in total.

This highly attractive chronograph with date is part of the collection named after Edward-Auguste Piguet, who was one half of the partnership, along with Jules-Louis Audemars, that founded the Audemars Piguet company in 1875.

Created in homage to Edward Piguet, this chronograph model is distinguished by its bold curved rectangular case in the Art Deco style, the present white gold example perfectly complemented by the black dial with white gold Breguet numerals.
