Lot Essay

The present timepiece, reference 144 GMT, is a very well-preserved example from the early production period of Bell & Ross.

Bell & Ross is a university project established in 1992 by Bruno Belamich (Bell) and Carlos A. Rosillo (Ross), sharing the vision of producing functional and endurable timepieces.

Belamich had started his watch career in 1993 as an intern under Helmut Sinn, the former manager and owner of the Frankfurt watch manufactory "Sinn Spezialuhren". It was at Sinn that they started constructing their first timepieces, recognizable by the additional inscription "by Sinn" on the dial and case and the typical winding crown with the Sinn symbol, until they gradually switched to their own independent production in Switzerland.
