According to the Archives of Blancpain, the present watch was sold in 1988 to Switzerland.
Consigned by the original owner, this lady's Villeret model is preserved in very good overall condition.
Blancpain reached a milestone in the watch industry with the introduction of the then smallest automatic movement, calibre 6395 with triple calendar and moon phases. The combination of separate apertures for displaying the day of the week and the month, a special date hand with numbered days on the outer edge of the dial and moon phases was a reminder of an almost forgotten horological heritage during the quartz revolution beginning of the 1980s.

The dial is very nice and original, with very light spots on the right side of the diamond at 3 o'clock and above the centre. Hands with slight surface wear. Case with surface wear in places. The hallmark and numbers to its case back are partly rubbed. Buckle with surface wear. The movement and functions are in working order at the time of cataloguing, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended.
