Offered in very good overall, the present timepiece is numbered 1 of a limited edition of 33 pieces only. The sheer weight of this pink gold timepiece is impressive, and conveys an impression of absolute solidity and exclusivity.
The timepiece is a re-edition of Blancpain's celebrated "Fifty Fathoms" model launched in 1953, considered the archetype of the diver’s watch. In the wake of its adoption by the French Navy’s combat swimmers corps for which it was initially designed, this timepiece was ordered by some of the most powerful navies in the world. Its name is derived from the water resistance guaranteed to a depth of 50 fathoms or 91.45 meters.
