Lot Essay

Produced to commemorate Joel Woolf Barnato, successful racing driver and from 1925 owner of the Bentley car company, this chronograph is a well-preserved example of a Barneto 42 model and underlines once again the successful cooperation between the two luxury brands Breitling and Bentley

Joel Woolf Barnato
Born in 1895, he was a member of the famous "Bentley Boys", a group of wealthy British racing-drivers who drove Bentley sports cars in the 1920s from victory to victory, keeping the legendary brand's reputation for high performance alive.

In 1925 Bentley Boy Woolf Barnato bought the company when the brand ran into financial difficulties, which resulted in the development of the famous supercharged Bentley Blower car.
