CARTIER, 18K GOLD OPENFACE KEYLESS LEVER SINGLE BUTTON CHRONOGRAPH WATCH WITH PULSATION SCALEAND 30 MINUTE REGISTER
The present watch with its perfect proportions and clean lines is an elegant example of Cartier's Art Deco period. Already well established by the 1920s, the firm excelled during this period with their extraordinary creations of timeless elegance. The rarity of this collector's piece is furthermore enhanced by the rare pulsation scale as opposed to the more commonly found 60 seconds calibration on this model.
The high quality movement is signed European Watch and Clock Co., Inc., Swiss, a joint venture between LeCoultre (later Jaeger-LeCoultre) and Cartier, founded in 1919 with the intention of producing exclusive mechanisms for Cartier wristwatches.
A similar watch, with outer 60 seconds scale, is illustrated in Le Temps de Cartier, Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti, Franco Nencini, p. 90.
