The dial has been refinished many years ago and now nicely aged, the original moire surface is still discernable in a raking light, hands probably later. The case is solid and substantial gauge of gold, rubbed in places and one of the engraved serial numbers is only partially legible, the inside of the upper part of the case is stamped ’73’, overall surface scratches, screw heads fairly chewed up and scratched around the screw holes. The movement is probably a later replacement dating from the 1940s, signed ‘European Watch Co.’, The movement is in working order at the time of cataloguing consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended.
