Lot Essay

This impressive chronograph is fresh to the market, consigned by a distinguished private collector, preserved in excellent overall condition and sold with the full set of accessories. It is believed to be the only second emerald-set variant of ref. 5271P to appear in public to date.

Cased in platinum, it is the extremely rare and highly coveted emerald-set variation of reference 5271P, bezel and lugs set with 80 baguette-cut emeralds of approximately 3.57 carats. Similarly, the platinum deployant clasp is additionally set with baguette emeralds to match the case.

Only available to Patek Philippe’s top clients, an exceedingly small series of presumably not more than 10 of these magnificent timepiece have ever been produced, rendering this emerald-set ref. 5271/13P-001 a significant opportunity for any discerning collector to acquire one of Patek Philippe’s rarest and most stunning timepieces.

Reference 5271
Patek Philippe revealed the new reference 5271 at Baselworld in 2014, a variation of the Patek Philippe 5270 perpetual calendar chronograph. This new version cased in platinum and features a black dial.

Moreover, the reference 5271 is powered with Patek Philippe’s in-house calibre CH 29-535 PS Q and has been granted the new hallmark of excellence, the PP seal.

The present example is the emerald-set variant ref. 5271/13P-001, set with 80 baguette-cut emeralds weighing approx. 3.57 carats. Presented with a 12-layer lacquer dial with grey sunken sub-registers, an emerald hour index at 12 o'clock, emerald-set bezel, lugs and deployant clasp, the reference embodies the ultimate excellence in watchmaking technology and haute joaillerie.
