PATEK PHILIPPE, VIBRANT PLATINUM PERPETUAL CALENDAR CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH, REF. 5270P-014
At Watches & Wonders 2022, Patek Philippe introduced a new version of its platinum 5270 reference, replacing the popular salmon dial variant. The new model, Ref. 5270P-014, features a stunning green lacquered dial with a black gradient rim, creating a vignette effect.
There are subtle differences in this new variant. For example, the tachymeter is missing, a nod to the first-generation 5270s. The dial has a more minimalist design, and the sub-dial fonts are now sans-serif, emphasizing this minimalism. The hands have also been updated—now faceted instead of leaf-shaped—and the applied gold hour markers are faceted with diamond-shaped tips. Reference 5270 was first introduced at Baselworld in April 2011, replacing the celebrated Ref. 5970. This was Patek Philippe’s first perpetual calendar chronograph to feature an entirely in-house movement, the calibre 29-535 PS, and it bore the brand’s new hallmark of excellence, the PP Seal.
In 2009, Patek Philippe established a new quality benchmark for its mechanical timepieces: the Patek Philippe Seal. This emblem of horological excellence surpasses all existing standards in the Swiss watch industry. Uniquely, the Patek Philippe Seal applies to the fully assembled watch as delivered to its owner. In line with these standards, the Seal represents a commitment to lifelong servicing and restoration for all timepieces created by the company since 1839.

The condition of lots sold in our auctions can vary widely due to factors such as age, previous damage, restoration, repair and wear and tear. Their nature means that they will rarely be in perfect condition. Lots are sold "as is," in the condition they are in at the time of the sale, without any representation or warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to condition by Christie's or by the seller. Any reference to condition in a catalogue entry or in a condition report will not amount to a full description of condition, and images may not show a lot clearly. Colours and shades may look different in print or on screen to how they look on physical inspection. Condition reports may be available to help you evaluate the condition of a lot. Condition reports are provided free of charge as a convenience to our buyers and are for guidance only. They offer our opinion but they may not refer to all faults, inherent defects, restoration, alteration or adaptation because our staff are not professional restorers or conservators. For that reason they are not an alternative to examining a lot in person or taking your own professional advice. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have requested, received and considered any condition report.
