The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The later added dial is very well preserved and clean, according to the Extract, the watch was originally sold with a silvered satinated dial with raised gold indexes and 3 lapped indexes. Based on the style of the present dial it can however safely be assumed that it was replaced shortly after the sale. The hard enamel signature and track are still preserved with accent and comma still present, the indexes have darkened with age to a pleasing patina. The case is in good condition, repolished at some time in the past, no hallmark visible, light surface scratching commensurate with age, the inside of the upper case is punched with the last digit of the case number ‘4’. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloguing, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended.
