The present Richard Mille timepiece is number 8 of the limited series of only 10 examples of this model in white gold made to commemorate the grand opening of the OC Concept Store in New York City in 2010. It is furthermore preserved in very good overall condition.

The RM-016 OC Concept Store represents the philosophy of the famous Boutique, which among other goods presents a selected range of fine timepieces, beauty products, leather goods, jewellery and artworks. The polished and brushed white gold case frames a sophisticated semi-skeletonized movement and featuring pink numerals, the OC Concept Store logo at 3 and a date opening at 7 o'clock.

With the introduction of the RM-016 in 2007, Richard Mille manufactured the first rectangular timepiece in the collection. Its distinctive design - thin and tapered to fit the wrist - immediately appealed to both men and women. The manufacture and assembly of the three case parts requires 202 separate machining operations. Its unidirectional variable-geometry rotor, a Richard Mille exclusive, allows the movement's winding mechanism to be optimized and adapted to the owner's lifestyle.
