Lot Essay

This bold and extremely elegant wristwatch from Roger Dubuis’ ‘Golden Square’ series is number 001 of the edition of 280 made in lightweight titanium. The edge of the display back is engraved with "J. Todt 12.2005”. The beautiful fully skeletonized movement is hand-engraved and is stamped with the ‘Poinçon de Genève’ quality mark. A dial of transparent crystal printed with narrow Roman numerals allows the full splendor of the movement to be appreciated, the one-minute flying tourbillon visible in the left corner of the dial is one of Roger Dubuis’ signature creations and carries the blued steel seconds hand.

Rarely offered at auction, this unusual and attractive tourbillon wristwatch is both impressive and has a great provenance.
