Icons in the world of vintage watch collecting and part of the most prized trophies, Rolex chronographs with 'Paul Newman' dials have become part of the most appreciated wristwatches amongst collectors.
Immediately recognizable through its dial and aesthetics, the present chronograph is part of the reference 6239, launched in the early 1960s and the first Rolex chronograph reference with an engraved tachymeter scale on its bezel. Manufactured with pump chronograph pushers and an attractive stainless steel case, later followed by gold versions, part of the most coveted examples of the reference feature exotic 'Paul Newman' dials.

Case: The case is in good condition with scratches and dents. Corrosion between lugs. According to research, the case is to early to be originally fitted with a Paul Newman dial. Dial: Scratch on the dial between ‘Rolex’ and ‘Cosmograph'. The luminous dots are all present and slighty oxidated. Slightly reacting to UV-light. Hands are original, with minor surface scratches. However, good condition. Dial has been later added. Bracelet: The bracelet is loose with surface wear and dents. Some oxidation between links. Endlinks are stamped 357. Overall condition: Good condition.
