Lot Essay

Reference 16520 (together with the gold model ref. 16528 and steel and gold ref. 16523) is the first automatic Cosmograph Daytona ever. It was in production from 1988 until the introduction of Rolex’s in-house movement in 2000.

The present example is distinguished by the much sought after white "inverted six" dial. Appearing on dials of the reference 16520 as late as 1995, the chronograph hour register features an inverted "6" reading as a "9".
