Lot Essay

The present reference 1803 is distinguished by its extremely attractive red “degradé” (French definition for the gradual transition from one colour to another) vignette dial. The combination of the red colour fading inward to a clearer hue and the diamond-setting rendering it a most elegant appearance.

The vignette dials are created in the same process as the beautiful and collectible Stella dials, through first rotating the dial while applying a lacquer, then varnishing the outer edges to produce a magnificent transition of bright to deep, dark, color on a diamond dial.
