Lot Essay

Monard is one of the most classical series produced by Henry Moser. It has a sapphire caseback, showing off the beautiful manual wind movement and has a power reserve indicator. Typically, watches with power reserve indicators have them on the dial, however to preserve the simplicity of the dial, it can be viewed through the caseback. This watch is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and every movement is made in-house and built and finished by hand, which is not a common practice these days. H. Moser & Cie has developed a growing following due to its commitment to quality and excellent design.

The highlight of the watch, however is the best known fume dial. These gorgeous "smoked" dial become signature of the brand. It requires more than 200 steps to produce, incorporates a sunburst pattern with a gradient colour effect. The colour begins light in the centre, and becomes darker and deeper towards the outer edges.
