Lot Essay
The reference 1582 was launched in 1944 and produced until at least 1949 in both yellow gold and pink gold. The case is made of two parts, with soldered overhanging voluptuous lugs, pleasant to the collector looking for atypical case design. It is believed that less than 200 pieces were produced in yellow gold and to date only 13 have appeared to the public.

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The present lot is offered in very good vintage overall condition. The dial is very good, with very light displays of crazing at the edges viewable under magnification. The dial appears to have been an older re-finishing. The case is good with scratches and scuffs commensurate with age. There are two noticeable scratches on the side just below the crown, and several others on the lugs. The case back shows signs of heavy wear, and prior polish, and the remains of an inscription are barely visible, even under magnification. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
