Lot Essay
A normal 16520 Zenith Daytona is highly collectable in today's market. This is not what we have here. This is what is known as a Patrizzi dial Zenith Daytona due to the sub-register outer rings ability to turn from their original silver color to a brown color. This change is only seen with 16520s between S and early T serials (1993-1996). This example fall squarely in this range with a W-serial (1994). The exposure to UV light causes this effect and it is highly desirable by collectors. The watch here has subsidiary outer tracks that have not turned quite as dark as other examples, but that leaves the next owner a great opportunity to witness this effect over time.

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The present lot is offered in very good overall condition. The dial is excellent with extremely light uniform tropical toning to the sub dial rings. The case and bracelet are good with several light scratches and scuffs commensurate with normal wear and age. There are signs of polishing. The upper right lug appears to be thin. The movement is in working order at the time of cataloging, consistent with the age of the watch. The chronograph is functioning. The movement has not been tested for accuracy. A service is recommended given the age of the watch.
