拍品專文

Extremely fine and seldom seen, the present Albert H. Potter chronometer pocket watch features an impressive 20.5-ligne nickel movement with damascened plates, patented detent escapement and bridge layout, blued steel helical hairspring, and triple free-sprung bi-metallic compensation balance. The barrel bridge is signed Albert H. Potter & Co. Geneva and marked Pat. Oct. 11.75. The balance cock is engraved Escapement Pat. Oct. 11.75, main plate engraved Plate desn Pat. Jan. 4.76, and train bridge numbered 701.

This large and superb timepiece is crafted from 18k gold and has a pleasing weight. It represents a wonderful opportunity for the astute collector to own a technically outstanding watch with a detent escapement.

Interestingly, the inside of the front cover has a personal engraving and reads 'Irwin Rew from his Mother on his 21st Birthday, March 11 1889'.
