Lot Essay

The IWC Mark XII is a modern classic with design elements coming from pilot and military watches. The Mark XII has a utilitarian design with a very legible dial and great functionality. This particular example is extremely rare and coveted as it was part of a limited edition created for SAAB to commemorate the launch of their 900 CE Cabrio car that was nicknamed the 'Mellow Yellow'. Believed to be limited to 210 examples, this particular timepiece distinguished from the regular model by having the updated ETA movement, a vertically brushed grey dial with the SAAB logo, and a lightweight titanium case. Furthermore, it features its original and iconic factory yellow leather strap and matching SAAB x IWC presentation box.
