Enzo Ferrari personally gifted this watch to Luigi 'Gigi' Villoresi upon his victory in the 1951 Syracuse Grand Prix, the first ever Formula One race held in Syracuse, Sicily on 11 March 1951. This race was one of an incredible number of victories for Scuderia Ferrari and Villoresi, including the sensational win in the Mille Milgia, Pau Grand Prix, the Genoa Grand Prix, the Marseille Grand Prix, and the Senigallia Grand Prix.

The present lot is one of a trio of watches in our auction that represents the strong relationship between Enzo Ferrari and Luigi Villoresi, a respected and famed driver known for his long, consistent performance and ability to adapt in various racing conditions.
