The present Patek Philippe open face minute repeating pocket watch was made for Bailey Banks & Biddle Co., a renowned Philadelphia based jeweler founded in 1832. The 17-ligne Patek Philippe nickel-finished lever movement is engraved 'Special' on one of the bridges, a designation of quality commonly found on movements made for Bailey Banks & Biddle Co.
